Meet the team

Our model is a bit different – we do not have any paid US personnel. The traditional international non-profit model tends to have higher overhead expenses due to the burden of expensive US personnel that are overseeing the organization – often the menial jobs are reserved for localized staff in the countries they serve.

We recognize that well-paid, professional jobs are needed almost as much as clean water. We are proudly run by talented Ugandans that are deeply invested in making the Uganda of the future much better than the status quo of today. Beyond our mission to bring clean water to the people, we have a broader mission of job creation, human development and have experienced the organizational efficiency of integrating humanitarian efforts within the existing culture that is being served.

Kisakye Olivia

Executive Director

Olivia runs and directs all organizational operations in Uganda. Additionally, she advises and guides the organization as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors. She is also responsible for proper site selection, and maintains borehole oversight committees in all of communities we have drilled a well in. Olivia is a trained accountant and utilizes her skills to guide FoundRising in compliance and financial accountability. Olivia oversees the growth and strategy of FoundRising and is critical to its success.

Welukwagana David

Director of Drilling & Engineering

David works on the technical side of the organization as a Director of Drilling and Engineering. His responsibilities include material and equipment procurement, site selection and surveying. David also monitors all drilling activities and ensures compliance with the published standards of clean water and site clearance. David has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and uses his technical intelligence to guide FoundRising’s projects to successful completion. David’s skillsets are critical to the success of this organization.

Ayebale Ared

Drilling Consultant

Ared advises on best practices from site selection, to drilling, to reporting and ongoing monitoring and evaluation on FoundRising projects. Ared has a significant amount of experience in drilling boreholes in Eastern Africa.
